BSR (Basic Statistical Returns) is numeric seven digit bank code used primarily by the banking industry. BSR code is used in challan as unique challan identification number (CIN). The CIN will be unique for each challan across the country to identify the true challan and BSR code is issued by the Reserve Bank of India to all Indian banks.
