HDFC Bank is India's biggest private sector bank by market value. HDFC Bank issues simple to use and reloadable FASTag through which you can make toll payment at 600 plus toll plazas at National Highways across India. HDFC Bank FASTag enables automatic deduction of toll charges and lets you pass through the toll plazas without the need of stopping for the cash transaction. HDFC Bank FASTag program is a part of the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) initiative rolled out by NPCI under the guidelines of NHAI and IHMCL.

How Does HDFC Bank FASTag Work?

If you have affixed HDFC Bank FASTag on the windscreen of the vehicle and then if you take your vehicle through the FASTag lane (ETC Lane) at the toll plaza, the RFID FASTag readers installed at the toll plaza scan this tag affixed and automatically deduct the toll fare from the prepaid wallet or bank account linked to your FASTag. In this way, you need not stop at the toll plaza and pay toll fare in cash.

How to Apply for HDFC Bank FASTag Offline?

Outlined below is the step-by-step process of applying for HDFC Bank FASTag offline:

  1. You need to visit PoS or authorised branch of HDFC bank
  2. First of all you need to have your FASTag account created
  3. Obtain HDFC bank FASTag application form
  4. Fill up the form
  5. Attach know-your-customer (KYC) documents with the form. Do not forget to carry the original documents with you for verification purpose
  6. Following documents are required for FASTag account creation:
  7. Registration certificate (RC) of the vehicle
  8. Identity proof and Address proof (Aadhaar Card, valid driving licence, PAN Card, etc.)
  9. Vehicle owner's passport-size photograph
  10. Submit duly filled and signed FASTag application form along with know-your-customer (KYC) documents

How to Apply for HDFC Bank FASTag Online?

The process to apply for HDFC Bank FASTag online is very simple. Please note that the online service is not available from 8 PM to 8 AM.

  1. Click on https://getprepaidcard.hdfcbank.com/fastag/
  2. The page will ask if you are having your account with HDFC Bank. A verification code will be sent to your registered mobile number, in case you have an account with HDFC Bank
  3. Enter details about the type of vehicle from commercial and personal
  4. Enter your personal details such as name, mobile no., email id, address, gender, etc.
  5. Select location of from submission (not mandatory)
  6. Enter your details for verification such as PAN number, driving licence, passpot or voter id
  7. Check the box for " I agree to the Terms & Conditions"
  8. Click on "Next button"
  9. Enter Vehicle RC details
  10. Click on "Next button"
  11. Upload required documents such as RC book, Driving licence of vehicle owner, Address & Id proofs, etc.
  12. Enter the amount you need to load in prepaid wallet.
  13. Click on "Next button"
  14. Review the filled application once
  15. Click on "Submit" button

Note: Threshold amount is the minimum recharge amount to be done at the time of tag activation

How to Recharge HDFC Bank FASTag Online?

Following steps are to be taken for Recharging HDFC Bank FASTag Online through HDFC Bank's FASTag portal:

  1. Log in to customer Net banking portal using your username and password credentials
  2. Go to 'Road User Centre'
  3. Click on 'Payment and Top Up'
  4. Select the 'Recharge' option
  5. Select the wallet ID to be recharged
  6. Enter the amount you want to load in your prepaid wallet
  7. Choose payment mode as 'Pay by Online'
  8. Click on 'Continue'
  9. You will be taken to a new window
  10. Select your bank from the list
  11. Click on 'Continue'
  12. Enter your login credentials for your bank account for making payment
  13. Complete the payment
  14. Your wallet will get recharged with the amount you paid
