Insurance offered under Kisan Credit Card Scheme

1. Personal accident insurance cover is offered to the farmers who hold a Kisan Credit Card.


2. Kisan Credit Card Holder gets a personal accident cover of Rs. 50,000 in the event of death or permanent disability.
3. Kisan Credit Card Holder gets a cover of Rs. 25,000 in case of other disability.


4. This insurance premium is borne by both the bank and Card Holder in a 2:1 ratio.


5. To become eligible for the personal accident insurance cover, the Kisan credit card holder's age should be maximum 70 years at the time of getting Kisan Credit Card.


6. Crop Insurance has been made mandatory for KCC holders by several banks.


7. KCC holders should have the option to avail the benefit of any type of asset insurance, health insurance (wherever product is available) and have premium paid through their KCC accounts


8. Very recently (on 08 Jul 2015), the coverage of KCC holders is also given under Atal Pension Yojna.
