IFSC (Indian Financial System Code) is an alpha numeric digit which is specifically allotted to any bank branch for carrying out financial transactions. IFSC code is assigned by RBI to the bank branch to identify each branch of every bank in India. The IFSC code used for Real Time Gross Settlement aka RTGS, NEFT and IMPS finance transfer systems.

How to Know IFSC Code by your Account Number?
For getting the IFSC code of your bank, you should know following 2 items:
(1) Bank Name
(2) Account Number
Now how to know IFSC Code by your Account Number, can be understood with the help of following example:
Assume:
- Bank Name is ICICI Bank
- Your account number is 00410123456

So the IFSC Code can be made as detailed below:
- First 4 characters represent the name of the bank (ICIC)
- 5th character is always 0 (0)
- First 4 characters of your account number denote branch of the bank. (0041)
- As last 6 characters of the IFSC code refer to branch of the bank so they will be (000041)
- Hence IFSC code of your bank will be ICIC0000041
