How to Get SBI Cheque Book through SMS?

Cheque is a negotiable instrument that promises its bearer a payment of a particular amount on furnishing the document to the bank with in a specified date. It is used to make a non-cash, secured and convenient payment. SBI issues a cheque book to its customer upon receiving a request for cheque book.

In order to get SBI Cheque Book through SMS, you need to send one SMS to 09223588888. This SMS should be sent from your registered mobile number. Following is the step-by-step process to get SBI cheque book through SMS:

  • Step (1): Type <CHQREQ> in your registered mobile
  • Step (2): Send it to 09223588888
  • Step (3): 6 digit number will be sent through SMS by the SBI to your registered mobile number through SMS. This will be used for giving your consent for further processing of your request
  • Step (4): Send consent SMS in the format

Example: To get cheque book through SMS, you need to send the following SMS:

SMS <CHQREQ> to 09223588888

SMS <CHQACCY 123456> to 09223588888 towards your consent

How to Get SBI E-Statement through SMS?

E-Statement means account statement in digital format. You can make a request to SBI to provide you E-Statement of your bank account for last 6 months.

You can request for E-statement of your Savings Bank account. SBI will send the E-Statement on your registered email ID. This Statement will be a password encrypted PDF file. You need to mention the password (code) of that PDF file in the SMS sent for getting E-Statement.

In order to get SBI E-Statement through SMS, you need to send one SMS to 09223588888. This SMS should be sent from your registered mobile number. Following is the step-by-step process to get SBI E-Statement through SMS:

  • Step (1): Type <ESTMT <Account Number> <code>> in your registered mobile. Code is any 4 digit number of your choice which will be used to encrypt the PDF file sent to your registered email id
  • Step (2): Send it to 09223588888
  • Step (3): Confirmation message of receiving your E-Statement request will be sent by the SBI to your registered mobile number through SMS. Standard SMS charges may apply when you send this SMS

Example: If your account number is 123456789111 and 4-digit code is 5555, then to get E-Statement through SMS, you need to send the following SMS:

SMS <ESTMT 123456789111 5555> to 09223588888

Charges of Using SBI SMS Banking Service

  1. Premium charges will be levied, if the SMS is sent on 6 digit number i.e. 567676
  2. For 10 digit numbers , the customer will be charged as per his mobile bill plan
