Eligibility for HDFC Bank IMPS

All resident current and savings account holders of the HDFC Bank who are registered for Net Banking or Mobile Banking or having a valid MMID (Mobile Money Identifier) are eligible for this service.

How to Register for HDFC Bank IMPS?

  • For fund transfers through IMPS, one needs to have IFSC & Bank account number (OR) MMID & Mobile number
  • You should have a mobile banking or net banking account
  • You can register for net banking at the time of opening your account or later on
  • You can get your MMID generated by visiting your branch or calling bank customer care or through mobile app

How to Register Beneficiary for IMPS?

  • Step 1 - Log into HDFC Bank NetBanking/MobileBanking using your Customer ID and Password
  • Step 2 - Click on Funds Transfer tab
  • Step 3 - Click "Add a Beneficiary", and then select Beneficiary Type 'Transfer to other bank'
  • Step 4 - Fill in the details(Account No. & IFSC or Mobile No. & MMID)
  • Step 5 - Click 'Add', then 'Confirm'
  • Step 6 – Authenticate yourself at the secure access step, and wait for your confirmation message

How to Send Money through HDFC Internet Banking using Mobile Number & MMID?

How to Receive Money using Mobile Number and MMID?

There are following 2 options available for receiving money using IMPS:

  • Option 1:Share your Account number and IFSC with the sender to receive money through IMPS
  • Option 2:Share your Mobile number and MMID with the sender to receive money through IMPS

How to Generate the MMID?

Option 1: Mobile Banking
  1. Login to MobileBanking App or logon to m.hdfcbank.com from mobile internet browser
  2. Click on accounts section
  3. Click on Generate MMID
Option 2: Net Banking
  1. Login to NetBanking, and click on Generate MMID transaction in left menu, under Request section
  2. Enter the details and Confirm
  3. MMID is generated for your account
Option 3: Phone Banking
  1. Call PhoneBanking number of your region
  2. Select Language
  3. Select 1 for Banking
  4. Select 6 to talk to agent to register for IMPS and generation of MMID
  5. Request for IMPS registration will be tken and MMID will be sent to your Mobile number by next working day

  4. Cap on maximum transfer amount: Only upto Rs. 50,000 can be transferred through IMPS
  5. There is a transaction fee per IMPS fund transfer
