In order to do Prepaid Mobile Recharge through SMS, you need to send one SMS to 9880654321. This SMS should be sent from your registered mobile number. Following is the step-by-step process of doing Prepaid Mobile Recharge through SMS:

  • Step (1): Type 'MOBR <Account number> <operator name> <mobile number> <amount>' in your registered mobile
  • Step (2): Send it to 9880654321
  • Step (3): Your mobile will be recharged with the requested amount
  • Step (4): Confirmation SMS for mobile recharge will be sent by the Karnataka Bank to your registered mobile number through SMS

For Example: If your bank account number are 323254547698 then, to recharge Airtel mobile number 9123456789 for Rs. 200, you need to send the following SMS:

SMS <MOBR 323254547698 Airtel 9123456789 200> to 9880654321

Important Note: The SMS requests should be sent through the registered mobile number only. SMS text is not case sensitive which means you can use uppercase as well as lowercase alphabets. Please do not type the pointed or square brackets in your SMS. There should be a single space between each word in the syntax.

How to do DTH Recharge through SMS with Karnataka Bank?

What is DTH? DTH refers to Direct-to-home Broadcasting, which is a digital service of distribution of multi-channel TV programs using a satellite system by any DTH operator. There are many DTH providers in India such as Tatasky, Dish TV, Airtel Digital TV, DD Free Dish and Sun Direct. In order to view multiple channels on your TV, you can opt for DTH service from any of these operators. Such DTH services need to be recharged from time to time. Karnataka Bank offers an option wherein you can get your DTH recharged just by sending an SMS in a particular format.

In order to do DTH Recharge through SMS, you need to send one SMS to 9880654321. This SMS should be sent from your registered mobile number. Following is the step-by-step process of doing DTH Recharge through SMS:

  • Step (1): Type 'DTHR <Account No.> <operator name> <Subscription No.> <amount>' in your registered mobile
  • Step (2): Send it to 9880654321
  • Step (3): Your DTH connection will be recharged with the requested amount.
  • Step (4): Confirmation SMS for DTH recharge will be sent by the Karnataka Bank to your registered mobile number through SMS

For Example: If your Karnataka Bank account number is 323254547698 then, to recharge Tatasky Subscription No. 1125800120 for Rs. 500, you need to send the following SMS:

How to Know MMID through SMS with Karnataka Bank?

What is MMID? MMID is an abbreviation of Mobile Money Identifier which is a 7 digit number allotted by your Bank for receiving funds through IMPS. MMID is a unique code and can be used with only one bank account.

Any bank allots MMID when you register your mobile number and account number in which you wish to receive funds. You need to share your mobile number along with your MMID with the remitter in order to receive funds through IMPS. Karnataka Bank offers an option wherein you can retrieve your MMID just by sending an SMS in a particular format.

In order to retrieve MMID through SMS by Karnataka Bank, you need to send one SMS to 9880654321. This SMS should be sent from your registered mobile number. Following is the step-by-step process to retrieve MMID through SMS:

  • Step (1): Type <MMID> <Account No.> in your registered mobile
  • Step (2): Send it to 9880654321
  • Step (3): MMID will be sent by the Karnataka Bank to your registered mobile number through SMS

For Example: If your Karnataka Bank account number is 323254547698, to retrieve MMID number, you need to send the following SMS:
