How to Apply for Aadhaar Card Without Documents?

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Every Indian can apply for Aadhaar Card. Aadhaar enrolment is a document based process in which applicant need to submit the Documents Required for Aadhaar Enrolment such as a valid Proof of identity (POI) such as such as PAN card, passport, voter ID card, etc. and a valid Proof of address (POA) such as passport, bank statement/passbook, voter ID, driving licence, etc. at the time of enrolment. Apart from that there is also a requirement to submit Date of Birth Proof for minor applicants.

How to Apply for Aadhaar Card Without Documents?

In case an applicant does not possess valid POI and POA documents, he can apply for Aadhaar under following 2 ways,

  1. Apply for Aadhaar Card Through Head of Family (HoF)
  2. Apply for Aadhaar Card Through Aadhaar Introducer

How to Apply for Aadhaar Card Through Head of Family (HoF)?

If the applicant does not have any proof of identity or proof of address in his own name, then also he can apply for Aadhaar if his name appears in the family's documents such as ration card, etc. He can then apply for Aadhaar card through head of family (HoF). However, in such a case, the head of the family has to possess valid PoI and PoA documents in his name and should have already enrolled for Aadhaar. Then only the head of the family (HoF) can introduce other members of the family at the time of their enrolment as mentioned on the UIDAI website. The HoF has to remain presnt with the applicant while applying for Aadhaar card at the enrolment centre.

The applicant can apply for Aadhaar through head of family by submitting,

  • Proof of relationship (POR) document, containing the details of applicant and HOF. In this case address in HOF's Aadhaar will be recorded as address for the applicant.
  • Proof of relationship (POR) document includes PDS card, Pension Card, Army Canteen Card, Passport, MNREGA Job Card, Birth Certificate, CGHS/ State Government/ ECHS/ ESIC Medical card, Marriage Certificate, etc.
  • If Date of Birth proof of applicant is also not available, 'date of birth' of the applicant will be recorded as declared or approximate.

All the steps to apply for Aadhaar Card without documents through head of family have been detailed below,

  • Step 1: The applicant needs to visit the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre
  • Step 2: Obtain and fill up the Aadhaar Enrolment Form
  • Step 3: Mention all the details correctly
  • Step 4: Get the form authenticated by the head of family (HoF). The head of family (HoF) needs to validate the identification and address of the applicant whom he is authenticating for and also needs to sign applicant's enrollment form.
  • Step 5: Submit the form to the Aadhaar executive
  • Step 6: His biometric data such as fingerprint, iris scan and photograph will be captured by the Aadhaar executive
  • Step 7: An acknowledgement slip containing the enrolment number will be generated by the Aadhaar executive
  • Step 8: The acknowledgement slip can be used to check Aadhaar card status
  • Step 9: He will get Aadhaar card sent via post to the address mentioned in the Aadhaar card within 90 days of Aadhaar enrolment

How to Apply Aadhaar Card Without Document Through Aadhaar Introducer?

If the applicant does not have any proof of identity or proof of address in his own name, then also he can apply for Aadhaar card via an Aadhaar introducer who is a person authorized by the Registrar to introduce residents who do not have PoI/ PoA documents.

The introducer must already have an Aadhaar number and needs to remain present in person at the Aadhaar enrollment center with the applicant while applying for Aadhaar card at the enrolment centre for introducer-based enrolment.

Stepwise process to apply for Aadhaar Card without documents through Aadhaar introducer have been detailed below,

  • Step 1: The applicant needs to visit the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre
  • Step 2: Obtain and fill up the Aadhaar Enrolment Form
  • Step 3: Mention all the details correctly
  • Step 4: Get the form authenticated by the Aadhaar introducer. The Aadhaar introducer needs to validate the identification and address of the applicant whom he is vouching for and also needs to sign applicant's enrollment form. The introducer should check that the information provided in the Aadhaar enrolment form by the applicant is correct and only after satisfying with this, he should sign.
  • Step 5: Submit the form to the Aadhaar executive
  • Step 6: His biometric data such as fingerprint, iris scan and photograph will be captured by the Aadhaar executive
  • Step 7: An acknowledgement slip containing the enrolment number will be generated by the Aadhaar executive
