Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) was founded by Rai Bahadur Lala Sohan Lal, the first Chairman of the Bank, in 1943 in Lahore. After partition, OBC shifted its registered office from Lahore to Amritsar. The bank was nationalised on 15 April 1980. It crossed the Business Mix mark of Rs. 2 lakh crores as on 31 March 2010 making it the seventh largest Public Sector Bank in India. OBC offers a broad range of banking products and services like deposit schemes, loans, debit cards, credit cards, Insurance products, ATMs, Internet banking, Mobile Banking, etc.
OBC ATM cum Debit cards are issued either with ATM only facility which allows only cash withdrawal from Bank's ATM as well as other Banks ATM under VISA, RuPay (NFS) alliance or also with POS facility so that it can also be used to shop and make payment using POS (Point of Sale) terminals.
OBC International Debit cum ATM CardOBC International Debit cum ATM Cards are issued to customers having a Savings Bank/ Current Account in his/ her individual capacity not in the representative capacity and Staff OD accounts provided his/ her age is 14 years or more.
OBC RuPay Debit CardOBC RuPay Debit Card is a debit card issued on Rupay platform that is being offered without any annual fee or issuance fee to the card holders. RuPay is the Indian domestic card payment network set up by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
OBC RuPay Kisan Card and VISA Green CardsOBC RuPay Kisan Card and VISA Green Cards are issued to extend ATM cum Debit Cards facility to farmers, offered as two separate card products namely RuPay Kisan Card & Green Card. They are issued in the accounts of formers under the General Credit Card or Oriental Green Card schemes.
