How to Link PAN Card with Bank Account?

PAN card can be link with Aadhaar card by follwing three methods:

Method (1) How to link PAN Card to Bank Account offline?

  1. Visit your home branch of bankand obtain the KYC Change Form or PAN Card Updation Form. Alternatively, you can download it from your bank's website and take a print out of it.
  2. You are required to fill in your Bank Account Number, Current Address, Mobile Number, Phone Number, IFS Code, etc. in that form.
  3. You are also required to write your PAN Card number in the form.
  4. Fill in all the details in the form correctly.
  5. Enclose a self-attested photocopy of your PAN Card with the form.
  6. Submit the form to the banker for processing your request.
  7. The banker will verify it with your original PAN Card.
  8. The banker will keep the application form for further processing.
  9. PAN Card will be linked to your account within 1 to 2 working days.
  10. After your request for linking your PAN Card with your account is processed, you will be notified by your bank through email/ SMS by bank.

Method (2) How to link PAN Card to Bank Account online through Internet Banking?

  1. Visit the official website of bank
  2. Login into your internet banking account through your User ID and password.
  3. Go to service request section
  4. Select PAN Updation option
  5. Now enter your PAN Card Number in the space provided
  6. Enter Date of birth and registered email ID
  7. Verify all the entered data once again and then click on submit button.
  8. PAN Card will be linked to your account within 1 to 2 working days.
  9. After your request for linking your PAN Card with your account is processed, you will be notified by your bank through email/ SMS by bank.

Method (3) How to link PAN Card to Bank Account by calling Customer Care Number?

  1. You can dial Customer Care Number of bankfrom your registered mobile number
  2. You will be routed through IVR selection
  3. Select option to talk to customer care executive
  4. When customer care executive is on line with your, tell him/ her that you want to update your PAN in your account
  5. Customer care executive may ask few questions like your full name, address, date of birth, mother's maiden name, etc. for verification purpose. You need to correctly answer these questions.
  6. Then he/ she will take down your PAN card number. Please inform the same.
  7. PAN Card will be linked to your account within 1 to 2 working days.
  8. After your request for linking your PAN Card with your account is processed, you will be notified by your bank through email/ SMS by bank.

Implications of non-linking of PAN with your Bank Account

In the absence of PAN Card, TDS will be recovered at 20% (as against 10% no matter in which tax slab you fall) in case of bank fixed deposits (FD), if the interest on FD exceeds Rs 10,000 in one financial year.
