Test Procedure for Driving licence in India (Offline)

  1. Obtain Form 4 from the nearest RTO or download it from the state transport website
  2. Fill this form
  3. Recent passport size photograph
  4. Submit the form along with proof of age, proof of address and Learner's License (original)
  5. Schedule a time slot for driving licence test at the RTO
  6. Pay the fee for taking the test, as specified in rule 32 of CMVR, 1989

Important Points

  • You must be present in person for the driving licence test at least an hour before the allotted time.
  • You will be put through a driving test, for which you have to bring a vehicle with you.
  • You will need to take a test before or along with the Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) at the designated track.
  • After you clear the driving test, your driving licence will be sent to your registered address, for which you need to affix stamp with equivalent value of registered post.
  • If you fail in driving test, you can apply for a re-test after 7 days. This period of 7 days should be utilized to upgrade your skills and to rectify your mistakes.
